Alex is a performer, session musician & teacher based in London.
He specialises in jazz, funk, rnb & soul and has performed extensively at venues and festivals across the UK and Europe with gigs in Croatia, Malta, Bulgaria, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Austria, Andorra & Sri Lanka. Highlights include London Jazz Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Green Man, Soundwave, Meadows in the Mountains, Wilderness, Boomtown, We Out Here, Manchester International Festival, The Great Escape, Cross The Tracks, Cheltenham Jazz Festival and support slots for Akala, Roy Ayers, Kurt Elling, Charlie Hunter & Craig Charles. He has an undergraduate music degree from The University of Edinburgh and completed a jazz performance masters at The Royal Northern College of Music.
He has recorded and composed music for the BBC, Netflix, Apple TV & Giles Peterson’s label Brownswood Recordings, and collaborated with Baluji Shrivastav OBE (Stevie Wonder, Soul II Soul), Pee Wee Ellis (James Brown, Maceo Parker),
Chris Hyson (Jordan Rakei), Robin Mullarkey (Jacob Collier, Natalie Williams) & Harry Fausing-Smith (Tom Misch, MRCY), amongst many other wonderful creatives. His music has also been featured on BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Scotland, Jazz FM, NTS, Worldwide FM, Reform Radio, Rinse FM & Kool FM.
