I've been teaching piano for over eight years with students ranging from complete beginners to more advanced. I specialise in jazz, improvisation & music theory and have a fully up-to-date DBS certificate. More info about online piano lessons can be found here.
I have also been involved in a number of community projects both at home and abroad. In 2009, I volunteered on a music project in Bosnia for young people suffering from war trauma and the following year led music workshops for adults with learning difficulties at an activity camp in Serbia. More recently, in association with the World Appreciation of Music Foundation, I spent two months teaching at the Centre for Development of Music Studies in Kerala, India, where I gave workshops on jazz and piano performance and assisted in the setting-up of a new music college. In addition, I have led workshops on jazz, improvisation, and composition at Altrincham Grammar School and for the Z-arts charity in Manchester.

I currently teach online using Zoom.
For online piano lessons, you will need the following:
A good quality piano
This can be digital or acoustic. If you are buying an electronic keyboard, make sure you get one with weighted keys!
A laptop or iPad with camera
You will need to sign up for a free Zoom account and download it onto your chosen device. Make sure it is fully charged before the lesson starts!
A stable internet connection
This is very important to ensure we have good quality audio and video throughout the lesson.
